Blogtoberfest Day #1: Set an intention
Welcome to Blogtoberfest12!
If you haven't signed up and/or grabbed yourself a blog button, it's not too late. You can join in at any time throughout the month.
Today, if you're wondering how you might get started, how about setting an intention for the month?
It would be as simple as: I want to try and blog every day for 31 days.
Or: I want to check out new blogs and meet likeminded souls.
Or it could be as challenging as: I have this creative project and I want to use this as an opportunity to stay accountable, get some feedback and get it finished!
Or even: I have no fixed plan, I'm just looking forward to seeing what happens. I'm open to surprises!
For me, the chance to host Blogtoberfest was too good to pass up. I was so honoured that Cathy asked me to babysit this festival while she took a break.
I see this as an opportunity to connect with a whole new blogging community, deepen the connection with bloggers I already know by inviting them to contribute guest posts, and step up to the creative challenge to provide a creative prompt every day for 31 days for those who might be needing a little inspiration.
So every day, there will be a new creative prompt here @ I Saw You Dancing, for those of you who are looking for an idea for something to post. But, of course, you are warmly welcome to post whatever you like! You are in no way constrained to what is suggested here... but we are always here if you need us.
Whatever happens, please make sure that the intention you set is gentle and has enough elasticity to withstand whatever life might throw your way this month! If you don't manage to blog every day, or don't get around to visiting every one who is participating, it really is OK.
If you find yourself off course, just stop. Take a deep breath. Do what you can. And know that whatever you do is perfectly good enough.
So happy to have you here on the journey!

ReplyDeleteI using the month to show people my ups, downs, rewards, withdrawal and hard work from going a Month without spending. I know it's a little different but it's a new insight to thrifty living, changing the stereotype of something I'm passionate about. I'm hope I can blog for 31 days, I love to write even if it ends up being mumbles :) Thank you for hosting!

Hello Kat,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting my blog and inviting me to join in again this year. I was hoping my laptop would be back with me in time. I have set out my intentions for the first week, which was my plan anyway, so that worked out well!
Thanks for visiting my blog Kat and for hosting this extravaganza!
ReplyDeleteA post a day will be a challenge but I'm 1 down, 30 to go!
Good Morning! I am looking forward to trying my hand at blogging everyday. I am a Monday morning blogger normally. I wonder if I will run out of things to say... Thank you for allowing me to participate!
ReplyDeleteExcellent suggestions on this first day of Blogroberfest 2012, Kat! I've set a simple intention to share a photo every day since I have the challenge of no internet at home but thankfully Blogger allows for setting posts in advance which is a helpful tool for me...
ReplyDeleteI just added my link to the growing list of participants, added Ms. Curly Pops fabulous badge to my blog and completed my inaugural blog post to start this party off with a BANG! =-) Now I've got to add my link to the giveaway page and I hope you'll consider leaving a comment for my giveaway - it's a fun one to be sure =-)
It seems to be mostly humans who are in Blogtoberfest, so I hope it's okay for a dog to join? My goal is to blog every day. Thanks! Murphy
ReplyDeleteHi, can someone pls tell me where the link to join blogtoberfest is? Much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI very nearly forgot but here I am and I think my intent this month is to do something each day. Whether it be to go to the gym, work on a creative project, meet up with friends and have fun, my goal is to not waste a single day just sitting around doing nothing fun. I easily hibernate when the weather turns cold and wet so it's an effort to get out and about at this time of the year!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! I joined and posted a giveaway!
